Remember - A Tattoo is for Life

You may recall a popular song from a few years back; it started with the great line "If I could give you one piece of advice.." It then went on to describe the virtues of applying sun cream. Whilst this article is not about sun cream, it does offer you some critical advice if you're considering a tattoo for the first time.

Obviously the main reason for advice of this nature is because tattoos are permanent, or that the very least extremely painful and expensive to remove or modify. That's why it is vitally important to be absolutely sure you are ready for a tattoo. We've been involved in the tattoo removal industry for some time and sadly the reasons for people wanting to remove a tattoo do not change significantly. They usually involve:

Regretting having a tattoo done when on a stag or hen night
Having the name of an ex-partner tattooed and then splitting up
Saw someone else with exactly the same tattoo
It means something different to what it is supposed to say
Dislike or regret ever having the tattoo in the first place

As these are reasons that we are used to hearing, we strongly recommend that you take your time and think before having a tattoo done. It is very likely that you will regret any tattoo that is born from impulse, it is also important to make your decision with a clear head and away from peer pressure. A growing concern for the tattoo removal industry is the increase in issues regarding symbolic tattoos that do not mean what they are supposed to. This is most pertinent to Chinese or Japanese tattoos where people have the symbol as it is in that language tattooed because it is meant to represent a word or a phrase, upon closer inspection or translation it can often mean something completely different.
