A star tattoo is in most cases quite a simple design; however do not let this put you off. Often the simplest design applied in the right way, have the greatest of impacts. A star tattoo can also represent a lot of different things, for example it could be a shooting star, a religious star or of course an astrological star. One of the attractions of a star tattoo is that they are small, which often means that they can be applied much quicker. This means less pain, so they are particularly popular as a first tattoo. They can also be slightly cheaper than other tattoos as they are based on quite simple ideas.

A growing trend in the star tattoo market is the shooting star. This is a very simple design that depicts a shooting star, most commonly this is applied to the upper shoulder and sometimes on the leg.

The reasons for getting a star tattoo vary from person to person, for some they represent an achievement or a success in life, for others it may have religious ramifications. We've heard stories where people have had star tattoos applied to symbolise the passing of a loved one, whilst others have them when a new child arrives.
